Forum Title:Orlistat (Xenical)Free Trial on Weight Loss (Xenical) - FDA-Approved Weight Loss Medication
Posted by:Dr. Maxine on 13/10/2013 at 12:19pm
Hey everyone! I've heard some similar stories about my weight loss efforts and weight maintenance. But not in a positive way! I've been struggling with my overall health and my weight in general. So far, I've noticed that I've gained a few pounds while I was on the drug. Now I'm hoping to shed those pounds and I'm also looking for some new ways to regain my weight. My doctor prescribed me Xenical (orlistat) for my weight loss goals. So far, I've been on it for about 4 months now, and it's been working for me. My weight loss has been minimal, but I'm trying to shed some weight. I'm also looking for more sustainable ways to lose weight.
Thanks, Dr. Maxine!

I understand your concern, but what I really want to know is if there are any alternatives? I've tried taking it with no side effects. But if there are, I'd rather see a doctor first. If anyone has any tips on how to get back on their weight loss journey, I could really appreciate them!

Thanks Dr. I've started to feel a bit more weight loss this week, so I hope that helps. I have been on Xenical for almost 4 years now and haven't lost much weight. I feel like my diet is the only way to lose weight, and I'm not looking for a drug that will make a difference. I'm hoping there are other options, and I'm hoping for some success stories. If there are any I haven't had, I'll see if it helps or not.

Thanks for the advice! I'm trying to lose weight. I've been on Xenical for about 6 months now, but I'm feeling a little bloated. I also feel a bit sick with my liver. Any suggestions or tips on how to deal with the liver issues?

Thanks for all that information, Maxine! I think I'm easing my weight on Xenical. If I can shed a few pounds on my own, I can look forward to seeing how it works for me.
I don't know what to do with my weight, but I'm trying to lose it. I've lost 5,000 pounds and I'm trying to get back on my current diet. I haven't been feeling any improvement at all in the past year. Any suggestions or tips for anyone?
Thanks!
Thanks for the help, Dr. I feel like I've been able to shed a few pounds on my own, but I'm just feeling a little bloated. I've got to go for a weight-loss surgery soon and I'm hoping to see my doctor.

Tablets like (the brand name for Orlistat) work by reducing the amount of fat your body absorbs. Ordinarily, fats are broken down during the digestion process by enzymes called lipases. Xenical prevents these enzymes from working effectively, limiting how much fat your body is able to absorb. The remaining, undigested fat is then excreted.
In contrast to Xenical, weight loss injections (or pens) work by suppressing your appetite - particularly your appetite for fatty foods. Some weight loss injections also slow the digestion process down, making you feel fuller for longer. They’re simple to use - check out our for more information.
Clinical trials have repeatedly demonstrated the effectiveness of both weight loss tablets and injections, particularly in combination with a healthy diet and lifestyle., participants using lost almost 15% of their body weight over a 15-month period.

A starting dose of 25 mg is very effective. If you’re considering taking Orlistat it’s essential to talk to your doctor before starting any weight loss medication. There are many different dosage strengths, including the brand name - the standard starting dose is 100-250 mg. For maximum safety, avoid taking more than one dose per day during a year.
You should follow the specific dosage recommended by your healthcare professional. They will assess your specific needs and specific needs you may need the most.
Orlistat is broken down by the enzymes liver and kidney lipases. They break it down in blood by cleaving to produce fat. Lipases break it down in the intestine, preventing it from being absorbed by the body. Without lipases, triglycerides are released in the intestine, which then cause the intestines toolves. Orlistat can only block lipases, not lipofilas. If you have a history of liver problems or kidney problems, your doctor will probably start you on a lower dose of Orlistat.
Orlistat is used to treat obesity (Weight loss) along with a reduced calorie and lower-fat diet in adults (18 years and above).
Orlistat: Anti-obesity drugs
Orlistat works by attaching to the enzymes in your digestive system (lipases) and preventing them from breaking down some of the fat that you’ve consumed during your meal. The fat that is not digested cannot be absorbed and it is removed by your body.
